Some of these types of drag drill bits have three cutting wings and four cutting wings, why?
It is because the drag drill bit is carefully designed and tested before making and selling it in the market. Three cutting wings drag drill bit is designed for a small size of drag drill bit, if there are too many cutting wings, it will be difficult for drilling cuts to get out of the drilling borehole, so the small diameter of the drag drill bit is always three cutting wings. Four cutting wings drag drill bit is seen in large diameter drag drill bit, because when the diameter is big, the three cutting wings will not be that durable, so it is better to be four wings.
